Wastewater Treatment  Brucite Magnesium Hydroxide
Magnesium Hydroxide can be used for many aspects on wastewater treatment.

The traditional ways for industrial wastewater are usually two categories. The first one is to convert the dissolved heavy metals into incompatible heavy metal compounds by chemical ways. The second one is concentrating and separating them without changing the chemical form of heavy metals. For its big specific surface area and solubility, magnesium hydroxide is usually used to react and absorb the heavy metal like Fe2+, Zn2+, Ni2+, Cd2+, Mn2+, Cu2+ Cr3+ and Cr6+from industrial waste water. Since magnesium hydroxide can be made into filter bed or filled into exchange column, when the waste water flows through, the heavy metal will be absorbed by Magnesium hydroxide.

The magnesium hydroxide can also neutralize acid in wastewater. The pH value of the magnesium hydroxide will be within 9 when it is reacted with no matter what kind of acidic substance. If others used, pH value will be too high. It will not scale even used to neutralize sulfuric acid and absorbing heavy metals in the process of neutralization. And there is no need to use anticorrosive equipment since magnesium hydroxide is not corrosive and it is completely non-toxic and harmless.  

Ammonia and phosphorus in the waste water affects the life of marine organism which will cause eutrophication of algae. So it’s very necessary to remove ammonia and phosphorus in the waste water by using magnesium hydroxide.
